Get Set for Festive National Lottery Draws
Last Updated: Monday 8th December 2025, 10:04
The National Lottery has lined up two special draws for the Christmas and New Year period, giving Lotto and EuroMillions players the opportunity to head into 2026 on a high.
Must Be Won Lotto Draw
A Must Be Won Lotto draw will take place on Wednesday 24th December, with the jackpot increased to £15 million.
The Lotto jackpot can only roll for five consecutive draws before a Must Be Won draw is held, so it's rare for the jackpot to reach £15 million.
However, the National Lottery sometimes organises special promotions around important dates in the calendar, tapping into the Reserve Fund to offer enhanced jackpots. The £15 million Christmas Eve grand prize, for example, is guaranteed even if the jackpot was won in the previous draw.
The draw will follow the regular Must Be Won format. Anyone who matches all the numbers will win or share the jackpot, otherwise the money will roll down and get split between all the prize winners in lower tiers. Match 2 winners receive £5 on top of their free Lucky Dip in a rolldown, and a percentage of the remaining money is allocated to each of the other prize categories.
10 Millionaires Guaranteed
The second festive draw will be held for EuroMillions players on Friday 2nd January. It will see 10 prizes of £1 million given away in the Millionaire Maker raffle instead of the usual one.
The odds of winning in the Millionaire Maker differ from draw to draw, as they depend entirely on how many tickets are sold. With 10 chances to win rather than one, though, it makes it far more likely that you will become a millionaire.
To win £1 million in the raffle, you must match all nine characters - four letters and five numbers - in the correct positions. It is also possible to win a prize in the Millionaire Maker and the main EuroMillions draw on the same night.
Superdraw Rollover
It has been a momentous year for big jackpots on EuroMillions, and the final Superdraw of 2025 on Friday 8th December offered a chance to win £113.6 million.
There were no tickets that matched all the numbers, so the jackpot increased to £125 million ahead of the next draw on Tuesday. It will carry on growing until it gets won, or until it reaches its jackpot cap of €250 million (approximately £218 million).
