Powerball Jackpot Surpasses £500M To Set New UK Record
Last Updated: Tuesday 11th August 2026, 14:47
Less than a month after its UK launch, Powerball has already reached remarkable heights, with the jackpot now standing at £503 million. This marks the largest jackpot prize the country has ever seen. Has there ever been a better time to enter the game?
What is UK Powerball?
In case you’re a regular lottery player who missed the introduction of this new three-times weekly draw game, UK Powerball is a six number draw game where you pick five numbers from 1–69 along with one Powerball from 1–26. You must attempt to match as many numbers as you can for a variety of prizes.
The game was originally a flagship lottery game in the United States, but was launched in the United Kingdom on 23rd July, 2026, after Allwyn brought it overseas to expand the game and increase jackpots exponentially.
The Current Jackpot
The jackpot has reached an estimated $975 million in the United States, putting it within touching distance of the $1 billion mark. The advertised UK and US jackpot figures are not directly comparable — the US figure is advertised before taxes, while the UK jackpot is advertised as a post-tax amount and paid over 30 years.
Since the most recent Powerball drawing marks the 43rd event in recent Powerball history (including the United States) without a winner, many lottery players are amped to play, as the next drawing could be the one in which a win takes place.
The Biggest UK Jackpot Win Ever Offered
With the upcoming prize standing at this enormous amount, the £503 million Powerball jackpot is the largest jackpot ever offered to UK National Lottery players. The record for the largest amount actually won by a UK ticket-holder remains £195,707,000, claimed in the EuroMillions draw on 19 July 2022.
The largest Powerball jackpot won so far in 2026 was a $250.8 million prize claimed by an Arkansas ticket on 2nd March.
It’s worth noting that multiple winners could emerge, splitting the jackpot.
