Lottery win was in the tealeaves

Last Updated: Wednesday 5th January 2011, 11:09

Lottery DreamsWhen Les Holmes went to see a fortune teller at a fair earlier this year, she told him that lucky number seven was going to prove very profitable for him. Not the luckiest person in the world, Mr Holmes forgot all about the prediction until he scooped £6.7 million on the National Lottery on set of balls number seven! The dad of two is part of a family syndicate from Doncaster and has been playing the same numbers every week for 12 years before the jackpot win.

The winning lottery ticket wasn’t bought online and that meant that Les Holmes had a lot to worry about all weekend. Having heard many stories of lost lottery tickets and unclaimed lottery prizes, Mr Holmes stashed the ticket in a biscuit tin all weekend. Of course he would have been much safer buying lottery tickets online but it all turned out ok and the ticket was safely despatched to the National Lottery offices.

The couple are now planning how to spend their newly found fortune and intend on starting with a trip of a lifetime to Australia. Mr Holmes also has his eye on a couple of luxury cars and the couple are hoping to purchase a holiday home in Corfu.

If you fancy getting your hands on a lottery win of this proportion then why not buy lottery tickets for the rollover on Saturday evening. That’s right, Wednesday’s Lotto rolled over and that means Saturday night’s jackpot is worth a massive £7 million!
