Biggest Euromillions winner of the year

Last Updated: Sunday 17th July 2011, 19:15

MoneyLast night saw the biggest Euromillions winner of the year as one single player matched all the winning numbers in the £105 million draw. After Tuesday’s superdraw rolled over, players were out in force for lottery tickets but in the event there was just one winner, a lottery player from Spain. If you haven’t yet checked the Euromillions results then please do so now, as there were many smaller tier winners too.

In the UK alone, almost £7 million is to be paid out in prize money to UK Euromillions holders, with over 5,000 players collecting prizes. Three UK players matched five main balls and one lucky star in the Euromillions draw and each of those collect over £266,0000. Another seven players collect over £30,000 for matching just the five main balls.

If you weren’t so lucky and didn’t get a high match, then don’t forget that the Euromillions has added an extra prize tier. If you matched just two main balls in last night’s Euromillions draw then you can collect a nice consolation prize of £2.60.

Of course now the Euromillions is a twice-weekly draw, and that means the next Euromillions Lottery draw will be played on Tuesday evening. Tuesday’s jackpot will be worth an estimated £13 million after being reset after the jackpot win. However, before you buy lottery tickets for that draw, don’t forget that tonight’s Lotto jackpot is a rollover, with a very generous £7 million estimated jackpot up for grabs!
