Euromillions winners inundated with pleas

Last Updated: Thursday 7th July 2011, 15:47

Euromillions It’s only a couple of weeks now since Nigel Page and Justine Haycock won the staggering £56 million Euromillions Lottery jackpot and now their postman claimed the Euromillions winners have been inundated with pleas and begging letters at their home.

It is thought that the couple aren’t even there, they are on holiday enjoying some of their massive lottery win. However, their postman has come forward and said that the begging letters are piling up at the winners home.

Maybe this is what they mean when they say a lottery win can ruin your life, it’s certainly a lot to deal with when everyone wants a slice of the pie.

It’s quite understandable that lottery players choose anonymity, especially if it stops this sort of behaviour. It must be very difficult to come to terms with being instantly projected onto The Times Rich List and the begging letters and sudden fame of a lotto win can’t help.

It’s worth considering the instant fame aspect when you buy lotto tickets as once you have allowed the press into your life, they are very hard to push back out again.

Of course there isn’t the same interest in smaller lottery winners, the press coverage given to this couple has been massive due to them becoming the biggest ever UK lottery winners, it’s quite an accolade although only broken a few weeks ago. It certainly makes you wonder how high the next record UK Lottery jackpot will be.

Good luck in tonight’s draw, the UK Lotto is worth over £4 million!
