Irish Lotto Jackpot Rolls to an estimated at €11 million

It has been quite a while since we have seen any jackpot winners on the Irish Lotto, and last night was no different. It rolled yet again and now the Irish Lotto jackpot is estimated at €11 million. This is the thirteenth time Ireland’s biggest lottery has rolled consecutively and if it rolls again it will match this year’s current record of 14 rollovers. The last time a jackpot was won on the Irish Lottery two players won the jackpot of €1,326,478 on the 6th August 2011.
Since then no one has been lucky enough to take home the Irish Lotto jackpot.
The Irish Lotto doesn’t normally reach these impressive jackpots, so for the prize fund to be worth €11 million is quite rare. The results from last night’s draw were 1, 9, 16, 22, 23, 44 and the Bonus Ball was 41. These results saw the number 16 appear, which just so happens to be one of the least often picked numbers. The rules changed for the Irish Lotto on the 4th November 2006 and since then the number 16 has been drawn out just 53 times.
Although no one won the jackpot last night that was worth €10,030,769, one fortunate player matched all five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to win a respectable €25,000. Also 54 players took home €1,611 and over three thousand players won €30.00 by correctly matching three main numbers and the Bonus Ball.
As the weeks pass by the Irish Lotto is becoming more and more popular to play as its jackpot keeps on getting bigger. The next draw will take place on Saturday 24th September and we will have to wait and see if anyone will have ‘the luck of the Irish’ on their side as the numbers are drawn. Make sure you have your tickets ready for the draw and check the Irish Lotto results here to see if you have a winning ticket.
