Lottery Grant for Playhouse

Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 12:43

A playhouse in West Yorkshire is to receive a lottery grant worth more than £1.4 million to fund a 2-year programme of research and development. The money, from the Arts Council via National Lottery funding will enable the playhouse to fund new initiatives and creative new projects. The West Yorkshire Playhouse are understandably thrilled with the funding, which will keep the Playhouse entertaining audiences for years to come.

The Playhouse intends on using the National Lottery funding to develop their arts venues, improving communication with audiences and working with communities in and around Leeds, and they guarantee that audiences will notice the difference.

It’s the 21st year of the West Yorkshire Playhouse and what a birthday celebration they will now be having, thanks to this money from the sale of lottery tickets around the UK. The theatre now intends on putting this money, and their own determination into ensuring that the Playhouse produces theatre that the people of Leeds, and the country can be proud of.

When you’re buying lottery tickets for the midweek Lotto draw on Wednesday, don’t forget that more than a quarter of the £1 from all sales of lottery tickets goes to good causes in the UK. So you can rest easy with the knowledge that every time you buy lottery tickets in the hope of becoming an instant millionaire, you can get a nice warm feeling, knowing you are improving communities and facilities all around the UK, and in your local area too!
