Lottery winner just didn’t realise

Were always bringing you stories of unclaimed lottery prizes in the UK, and often it’s the news that the cash, intended for a lottery winner has ended up going to charity. This week it’s a good news story as a lottery winner who didn’t realise he was sitting on a winning ticket, claims a £1.1 million UK Lotto prize. Shaun Vincent has played the lottery since it begun and always checks the lottery results carefully each week, but there was that one week he didn’t check and the rest is history.
Mr Vincent is from Royston in Barnsley and has played the UK Lotto since it launched in 1994. He keeps his lottery tickets in their own folder and always checks his lottery numbers carefully each week when the lottery results are announced. So when Mr Vincent heard about an unclaimed lottery winner from South Yorkshire, he didn’t give it a second thought, after all he checked his tickets carefully.
After another week when the winner did not come forward, Mr Vincent decided to give his own lottery tickets another check. Imagine his surprise when he pulled out the lottery tickets for that week to find that he was in fact the £1.1 million winner!
All’s well that ends well and now Mr Vincent has been united with his Lotto jackpot win and no doubt will be celebrating.
