Midweek UK Lotto Winner Scoops £6.2 million

Last Updated: Thursday 5th December 2013, 13:19

The midweek UK Lotto draw, which took place on Wednesday, saw one lucky ticket holder scoop the entire rollover jackpot of £6,252,743. At time of writing, the winner has not yet come forward so if you bought a ticket for last Wednesday’s draw, check your numbers now as it really could be you!

If you haven’t yet seen them, the winning numbers from Wednesday were 1, 5, 17, 19, 37 and 47 with a Bonus Ball of 11. The winning ticket correctly matched up all six main numbers (in no particular order) so if you have done just this, you are the newest lottery millionaire!

Sadly, lottery prizes - even jackpots - often go unclaimed. This can be because people do not remember to check their numbers or they lose their tickets. One recent Euromillions winner from Ireland nearly missed out on €258,528 as she had thrown her ticket in the bin without checking it. Luckily, she noticed a story in her newspaper about an unclaimed prize from a ticket sold in the shop she visited that day, and in the nick of time she extracted her ticket from the bin beneath all her kitchen waste just before it was due to be emptied.

Of course, you could avoid all the worry of checking your lottery numbers by buying your tickets online. When you do this, your numbers are checked automatically and an email will notify you of a “change to your ticket”. Then all that’s left to do is enjoy your winnings!

Meanwhile, this weekend sees a rollover Euromillions jackpot of €25 / £21 million, a UK Lotto jackpot of £3.7 million and an Irish Lotto jackpot of £3.5 million. Whichever lottery you decide to play this weekend, National-Lottery.com wish you the best of luck!
