One Ticket Wins Irish Lottery Jackpot

Last Updated: Monday 6th August 2012, 15:35

On Wednesday there was an Irish Lottery jackpot of just over €4.4 million available to win, so many players were crossing their fingers and hoping for a top prize win. This was indeed in the case for someone as the Irish Lottery results from this draw show that one ticket matched the numbers drawn to win the Irish Lottery jackpot. The winning ticket was sold in Dublin, however the identity of the ticket holder (or holders if bought as part of a syndicate) is yet to be known.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s Irish Lottery mid-week draw were 2, 14, 15, 19, 27, 31 and the Bonus Ball was number 7. It isn’t hard to see why a jackpot winner was found in this draw as all the main numbers fall below the number 31, which is the last calendar date of the month. Therefore because many people pick their numbers based on dates such as birthdays and anniversaries when all the main numbers drawn fall below 31, like Wednesday’s draw, the chances that there will be a jackpot winner are quite high.

To add to the Irish Lottery jackpot winner on Wednesday night there was also one ticket which matched five of the main numbers along with the Bonus Ball to win the second tier prize that came out at €25,000.

As the jackpot was won it means that the Irish Lottery top prize now goes back to basics which means tomorrow night it is estimated at €2 million, so make sure you have your tickets ready if you fancy becoming the next Irish Lottery jackpot winner.
