Tuesday 14th April - The announcement is made that the USA's famous Powerball lottery, home of the world's biggest jackpots, is due to be made available to purchase officially through the National Lottery some time in the summer of 2026. The press release confirms ticket prices, a UK-only set of prizes, and more, but some finer details are yet to be released.
Monday 6th July - A follow-up Allwyn press release confirms that the game will be launching later in the month, on July 21st.
Tuesday 21st July - Tickets go on sale in the UK, making Powerball an international lottery!
Thursday 23rd July - The first draw for UK players takes place at 4am and rewards more than 87,000 ticket holders in the country with prizes. The jackpot is worth £308 million – the largest ever seen in the UK – but nobody wins so it rolls over to £322 million.
