Thunderball offers a £500,000 fixed jackpot, which is received by each player who matches five main numbers and the Thunderball, rather than being split between winning tickets, as is the case for Lotto and EuroMillions. There are nine prize tiers in total, with a 1 in 13 chance of winning a prize for every line played. Prizes start at £3 for matching just the Thunderball and grow quickly as you match more numbers.
Here are the Thunderball prizes available, the amount you will receive in each winning tier and the odds of winning across the nine different levels.
|Prize Tier||Odds of Winning||Prize|
|5 main + Thunderball||1 in 8,060,598||£500,000|

|4 main + Thunderball||1 in 47,416||£250|

|3 main + Thunderball||1 in 1,437||£20|

Thunderball Prize Capping
Although the prizes in Thunderball are fixed, in remarkable situations there may be a need to cap certain prize amounts at a slightly lower value than advertised. Capping is used in the unlikely event that the prizes won total more than four times the receipts from ticket sales. In this case, a calculation is applied to decide which tiers need to be capped to bring the overall prize pool below the threshold.
