Correction to UK Lotto Jackpot From Saturday 19th October 2013
Last Updated: Thursday 24th October 2013, 11:10 am
The UK Lotto has issued a correction to the jackpot prize for Saturday 19th October 2013. The prize was initially reported as £6.2 million, but a retraction issued today stated the prize had been “incorrectly communicated” and has now been confirmed as £4.86 million.
The UK Lotto Results page for Saturday 19th October 2013 has been updated to reflect the amendment. No other prize tier has been affected by this change and lottery organisers have apologised for any confusion caused.
This correction means that Saturday’s three jackpot winners will each receive £1,620,071.
This error could explain why a UK Lotto press conference was postponed at the last moment earlier this week. National-Lottery.com reported yesterday that the winning couple, who are grandparents from County Durham, were due to meet the press on Tuesday morning. However, the press conference was deferred at the last minute with “logistical reasons” being cited. A new time and date for the press conference has not yet been scheduled.
