Euromillions player misses out

Unless you are hiding under a rock, you couldn’t possibly have missed the news of the Tuesday Euromillions draw, and the £85 million jackpot that accompanied it. The jackpot rolled over, but only by a twist of fate as one Euromillions player missed out when an error with her lottery ticket sale left her ticketless, despite her numbers coming out on Tuesday evening.
The lady in question went to purchase her Euromillions and Lotto tickets for the week last Monday. As she always plays the same numbers, buying lottery tickets is easy for her and her husband however this week there was some confusion at the checkout. The lottery player bought her Lotto tickets as usual, but requested a new fast pay card for her Euromillions tickets, with the new draws launching many players are doing this right now. Once the fast pay ticket was purchased, her husband suggested she should buy a lucky dip for the Euromillions, which she did so, popping the fast pay card into her pocket.
Watching Tuesday’s Mega Jackpot draw, the couple soon saw their winning Euromillions numbers drawn, one after another from the drum. After a little excitement, the anonymous lottery player realised that while she had the fast pay card, no Euromillions ticket had actually been purchased.
To say they are devastated would be an understatement, but for the rest of us, every cloud has a silver lining. Had this lady and her husband not missed out on this big jackpot, the rest of us wouldn’t be playing for a massive £107 million. So if someone should win tonight’s jackpot, they have this unlucky lady to thank for their good fortune.
