Hunt Still on for £6.1 Million Wednesday Lotto Winner

Last Updated: Monday 23rd January 2017, 11:12

Double-check your tickets, people — If you played Lotto last Wednesday, you could be worth an absolute fortune.

The hunt is currently on for a single Lotto player who, despite matching all six main numbers in the Wednesday, 18th January draw, has yet to come forward to claim their prize.

Two players shared the jackpot prize in the midweek Lotto draw which, after a series of rollovers, amounted to a whopping £12.2 million. The first of the top-prize ticket-holders came forward almost immediately to grab their share — a cool £6.1 million — but the second winner is still nowhere to be seen almost a week later. Lottery officials are now urging players to double-check their tickets and to get in touch if they believe that they are Wednesday’s missing millionaire.

Thankfully, there were hundreds of other players who were not only blessed with a little Lotto luck last Wednesday, but who were a fair bit quicker claiming their cash. One player managed to take home £49,792 after matching five numbers plus the Bonus Ball, while 64 others scooped £818 each by matching just five main numbers. Lotto Millionaire Raffle, too, changed a handful of other players’ lives forever, with one person taking home a sweet £1 million and 20 others each netting themselves £20,000 — not bad for a mid-week flutter!

Could you or someone you know be the second of Lotto’s first jackpot winners of 2017? Check your car’s glove compartment, have a rummage through your handbag, and search down the side of the couch — a literal fortune could well be waiting for you to claim it! In the meantime, why not check out what’s on offer in this week’s draws, or find some fuel for your jackpot daydreams?
