Isle of Wight Wins February Postcode Millions

Last Updated: Friday 19th February 2016, 09:51

Residents living in the PO30 1 area will be celebrating following February’s People’s Postcode Lottery draw. A prize pot of £3 million will be shared between entrants in what is the Isle of Wight’s first ever win in the charity lottery.

The winners, from the Newport region of the island, will be invited to attend a special event at Landguard Manor later this month after receiving their glamourous golden invitations. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 27th February, when lucky invitees will discover how much they have won.

It isn’t just lucky residents of the Isle of Wight who are celebrating this historic win. The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, which is based on the island, has also benefitted from the lottery. The charity, which is named after its founder and former British sailor Dame Ellen MacArthur, aims to rebuild the confidence of young cancer sufferers through sailing and has received £525,000 to date in funding thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery. She proclaimed in a press release: “Huge thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. It is so exciting that the Postcode Millions has arrived here on the Isle of Wight for the first time!”

If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning a share of March’s £3 million Postcode Millions pool, you can just enter online and who knows, it could be you celebrating with your neighbours next month! There is also a huge top prize to be won by playing this Friday’s EuroMillions, where the jackpot is an estimated £18 million. Likewise, this Saturday’s Lotto jackpot could prove life changing, worth an estimated £6.8 million, so no matter where you are in the UK, there are plenty of great prizes to be won. Good luck!
