Lottery boost for Irish Health

Last Updated: Thursday 24th September 2020, 14:52

A grant from the Big Lottery Fund is about to make a whole lot of difference to mental health issues in Northern Ireland. The boost for counselling services across Northern Ireland is worth £51,840 and should make a huge difference to the six lottery projects it’s aimed at. The lottery good causes cash is to be spread around six organisations, proving how it doesn’t take millions to make a big difference.

The grants are In conjunction with the Healthy Minds Northern Ireland programme and offers cash to all sorts of counselling services such as the £9,325 going to the Men’s Action Network in Derry. This relatively small lottery grant will mean that the service will be able to offer vital counselling sessions for local men and it’s just one of the causes that are getting lottery cash.

Other grants will be going to a series of counselling workshops in North Down and the Ards area and will help people from all walks of life get along and cope with the pressures of modern life.

This is just one of the many ways that money from your lottery tickets is going to help charities, good causes and organisations all around the UK and this weekend there’s plenty of reason to buy lottery tickets. As mentioned yesterday, tonight it’s the €112 million Euromillions rollover draw and then tomorrow there’s the UK Lotto to look forward to.

Good luck in your lottery draws this weekend, keep buying those lottery tickets and improving the good causes fund as you do so.
