Lotto Jackpot Soars To £14.4 Million

Last Updated: Tuesday 5th September 2017, 09:22

In a week which marks the end of the summer holidays for many people across the UK, the Lotto jackpot has swelled to a stunning amount and any winner would be able to permanently put off the dreaded return to work if they so wished. The top prize stands at £14.4 million for Wednesday’s draw after another rollover on Saturday night, having continued to grow since one lucky player landed £1.9 million on 16th August.

Although there have now been five consecutive draws without a jackpot winner, hundreds of thousands of participants have picked up prizes in every game, and the Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees that one ticket holder will win £1 million every Wednesday and Saturday. A single player also won £77,848 in Saturday night’s draw after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.

Saturday’s winning numbers were 30, 33, 35, 40, 41 and 59, with a Bonus Ball of 8. As well as being from the upper part of the 1-59 number range, Saturday’s numbers also included the most common pair in Lotto - 33 and 40 have now been drawn together 46 times. You can check out the Lotto Statistics page to find out all about the game’s most frequently drawn and overdue numbers.

The Statistics page also charts the progress of the jackpot over the last 180 days, and shows that the last time the top prize went five draws without a winner, it was snapped up in the next game by a player who won £14.4 million.

A £15 million EuroMillions jackpot will also be on offer tonight after a French ticket holder won £25.9 million on Friday night, and you can give yourself a chance of winning either Lotto or EuroMillions by visiting an authorised retailer. You can also choose numbers online if you prefer, and it could just be that you win a life-changing prize. Good luck!
