Lotto Player Wins £26.4 Million Without Matching All Six Numbers

Last Updated: Sunday 1st January 2017, 09:46

A Lotto player is kicking off 2017 an astonishing £26.4 million richer and they didn’t even match all six main numbers! In the absence of a top tier winner, the lucky ticket holder was the only player to match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in New Year’s Eve’s must-win draw, benefiting from the game’s rolldown feature.

Lotto’s jackpot passed its cap of £22 million on Wednesday 28th December and, when there was no winner found, the rules state the full amount had to be distributed in the following draw. The massive win capped a fantastic year for Lotto players, which saw the game’s record prize of £66 million shared between two players last January, when the jackpot cap stood at £50 million. Find out more about the Lotto rollover rules at the Rollovers page.

New Year’s Eve’s Lotto numbers were 10, 17, 35, 41, 51 and 54 with Bonus Ball 25 and other prizes ranged from a free Lucky Dip for the 1.4 million players who matched two main numbers to £1,383 for 89 ticket holders who matched five main balls. In addition, the special draw boasted a hundred extra Lotto Raffle prizes of £20,000 on top of the usual 20, and a single player scooped £1 million by matching the raffle code TEAL 4003 7662. Take a look at the Lotto Results page to find a full prize breakdown and all winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle codes.

Wednesday’s first Lotto draw of 2017 will feature a jackpot worth £2 million and another ticket holder is guaranteed to bag £1 million in Lotto Millionaire Raffle. You can play Lotto online or buy physical tickets at authorised retailers across the UK.
