Lotto Player Wins £6.7 Million Jackpot to Round off February
Last Updated: Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 14:01
A Lotto player finished the shortest month in style with a £6.7 million jackpot win on Wednesday 28th February. The player is the first to match all six numbers since Saturday 17th February, when a couple from Bristol secured an £18.1 million payday.
Lotto Results for Wednesday 28th February 2018
The Lotto results for Wednesday 28th February were 9, 10, 27, 30, 33, 45 with Bonus Ball 29. In addition to the seven-figure jackpot win, two players matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to claim £21,893. There were more than 800,000 Lotto prizes paid out in addition to the Lotto Millionaire Raffle awards, worth £1 million to one ticket holder and £20,000 to 20 others.
What Next for the Winner?
The excitement has just started for Wednesday night’s Lotto winner. After the initial celebrations have died down, they need to contact the National Lottery to start the claims process. The next step is to meet a winners’ advisor to verify the win and collect the big prize.
The frustrating thing for Wednesday night’s Lotto winner is that their meeting may have to wait until the unprecedented snowfall that has hit the UK peters out. Surely though, with £6.7 million ready to hit their account, they won’t be too upset at waiting an extra day or two.
£18.1 Million Lotto Winners
The £18.1 million Lotto winners from 17th February came forward last week to announce their good fortune at a press conference. Dennis and Shirley Banfield are said to be the UK’s oldest ever lottery winners, aged 87 and 83 respectively.
Shirley played just one Lucky Dip line in the draw on that Saturday night and discovered her good fortune the next morning. They will upgrade their three-door Nissan Micra, but insisted they wouldn’t swap it for a supercar. The couple intend to give their daughters a third of the prize each, and hope to help others with their newfound fortune too.
Saturday’s Lotto Jackpot
The Lotto jackpot for Saturday stands at £3.2 million, and you could help kick March off in the same style as February ended, with a big win. Buy tickets from retailers across the country or join an online syndicate to boost your chances of winning.
