Midweek Lotto hits the target

With the brand new Tuesday Euromillions draw now launched, there was some concern than Lotto jackpots may tail off. In the last few weeks there have been two midweek Lotto jackpots that have not even reached £2 million, a worrying trend but for all the concern the midweek Lotto hits the target this week! Last night’s UK Lotto jackpot reached £2.5 million, slightly over estimate and two lucky players shared the jackpot.
Any concerns for Lotto jackpots fell away last night, as over £7 million was paid out in prize money in the midweek Lotto draw. Each of the jackpot winners will collect over £1.2 million and there were over 260,000 winners besides. Players matching the second tier Lotto prize collected £66,103 and that accounts for a dozen lucky lottery players.
This combined with the lower tier prizes means that lottery players in the midweek UK Lotto draw collected over £7.4 million in prize money; the results showing that Lotto sales aren’t suffering at all with the launch of the new Tuesday Euromillions.
Speaking of the Tuesday Euromillions, that rolled over and so the next lottery draw in the UK is Friday’s Euromillions rollover. That jackpot is worth an estimated £22 million so if you want tickets for that one, you need to get a hurry on. The Euromillions draw plays tomorrow evening, and then the next UK Lotto jackpot is up for grabs on Saturday evening, the estimated jackpot for that draw is £4.4 million, and it seems very likely to reach that total too!
