New National Lottery Draw Games On The Horizon?
Last Updated: Tuesday 24th March 2026, 11:20
The National Lottery operator, Allwyn, has issued a very interesting press release, suggesting that new draw games are in the works. This follows a £450 million investment in the National Lottery's infrastructure, including a nationwide upgrade of in-store lottery terminals and the mobile National Lottery app. It all looks very promising!
In a recent press release, Allwyn covered a broad range of topics, but hinted that the recent lottery terminal upgrades, National Lottery app updates, and broader £450 million investment would "unlock a comprehensive programme of new games". Included in the release was the following statement from Andria Vidler, the Allwyn CEO:
"We are delighted to have delivered growth to the National Lottery while successfully completing the largest international upgrade in lottery history. This is a hugely exciting time for the National Lottery and its players, as these much-needed upgrades now allow us to launch new games and products, meaning we can generate more money than ever before for Good Causes."
This all sounds very promising, especially since it's coming straight from the horse's mouth. It's also a logical/plausible next step, at least from an outsider perspective, following the massive upgrades and investment Allwyn has recently made.
So, what new games might we be getting? At the moment, no further information has been released regarding new game details, or even a clear timeframe for any changes to occur within (although if that changes, we'll be sure to write a piece covering them!). Despite the vast sums of money and millions of transactions involved, the infrastructure of each individual lottery game is almost entirely digital, making it possible to get things set up and launched surprisingly quickly.
There have been no new National Lottery draw games launched since March 2019, when the Set For Life annuity lottery was launched. All things considered, that might be changing soon!
