No Jackpot Win but Six Millionaires for Euromillions

Last Updated: Tuesday 6th September 2011, 13:59

Lottery RolloverThe entire country was on tenterhooks last night, eagerly awaiting the results of the Euromillions thirteenth consecutive rollover draw, and with a £166 million jackpot who could blame them. Well the draw has taken place and there was no jackpot winner, which means another £166 million jackpot on Tuesday, however there were six millionaires created in the draw in what turned out to be the most exciting Euromillions draw in the history of the game!

We all knew the Euromillions cap had been reached, but we weren’t all sure what that would mean for lottery players. Well now the news is out and what it means firstly is another chance for Euromillions players to have a stab at that £166 million jackpot. However, the biggest effect for lottery players had to be the size of the second tier prize. Because the Euromillions jackpot could not grow above £166 million, all ticket sales over that were added to the 5 +1 prize fund, and the same will happen this Tuesday, boasting bigger prizes for second tier winners.

What it meant for players last night was winnings of over £3 million for the 5 +1 prize, won by six players, two from the UK! In all, over £18 million was paid out in prize money from the Euromillions draw and if that wasn’t enough there’s a Lotto rollover up for grabs tonight! If the rollover excitement can take a little more, then make sure you have lottery tickets for tonight’s draw, worth an estimated £6.8 million!
