Pub Syndicate in Lotto Win

We love hearing stories about lottery syndicates, there’s nothing quite like seeing millions being shared among friends or colleagues. This week we have one such story to bring you as a nine-strong pub syndicate scoop a £4.5 million lotto win. It’s great news and cause to celebrate as each syndicate member collects half a million pound each.
Even better is that one of the syndicate members, Jim McGrail was made redundant three months ago due to the recession and hasn’t been able to find work since. The 49 year old member of the syndicate was devastated to lose his job but this money will mean financial security for him and his family.
The syndicate members are all regulars at the Doon Inn in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire and on Saturday all met at the pub to check the lottery results. After one of the syndicate members scribbled the lottery numbers down on a beer mat in the pub they realised they have matched several. Upon asking the barmaid to check the numbers they realised they had matched all six and were about to share the £4.5 million jackpot.
The lottery syndicate members include Jim McGrail as mentioned above, Driving instructor Bobby McLauchlan, brothers Sandy and William Morton and sales manager Iain MacDonald. The other members have chosen to remain anonymous.
It’s great news and a real feel-good story and we at National Lottery would like to congratulate all the winners and hope that this inspires more players to put together their own lottery syndicates. It really does improve your chances and you get to share the wealth with friends.
