A retired couple are on the lookout for a brand new home, a nice retirement bungalow after scooping a staggering £1 million on a National Lottery scratchcard. The retired couple from Castleford, West Yorkshire will now move from their rented accommodation into a cottage or bungalow of their won after scooping the £1 million on the Monopoly scratchcard from the National Lottery.
Joan Nicholson and her husband Malcolm, who are both in their 70s, had popped into Leeds for some shopping when Mrs Nicholson picked up the National Lottery scratchcard; she didn’t scratch off the card straight away and took it home in her purse. With a cup of tea at home the couple scratched off the surface to find they had won the £1 million top prize.
The couple are retired and will be celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary this month, it will be quite a celebration now after this lottery scratchcard win! The couple are in complete shock at their good fortune and can hardly believe their luck, they intend on treating their two sons and five grandchildren to some treats but top of their list is a new bungalow.
It’s amazing how two people can now be guaranteed a lifetime of security after this very fortunate win, especially in their retirement years and it just goes to show, you’re never too old to enjoy a windfall as we’re sure this lucky couple would agree.
Lottery scratchcards are hugely popular in the UK, but if you buy your lottery tickets online, it’s worth bearing in mind that you can play interactive scratchcards and instant wins from the National Lottery too!
