Three is the Magic Number for Lotto
Last Updated: Wednesday 19th August 2009, 12:34 pm
You’ve heard the song but it seems three really is the magic number for lotto players across the UK. The National Lottery have today revealed statistics that show that residents who live at number three have scooped over £77 million on the National Lottery since the lottery launched in November 1994. Don’t worry if you live next door because this is closely followed by players who live at number two!
The lottery statistics were calculated on the number of lucky lottery ticket holders who have won over £50,000 and who have opted for publicity since the lottery’s launch.
Check your door numbers as here are the lucky door numbers in full:
- Number 3
- Number 2
- Number 5
- Number 6
- Number 4
- Number 17
- Number 8
- Number 1
- Number 11
- Number 18
The research also showed that for the second year running the top three lucky postcodes for lottery winners have held onto their top rankings as the luckiest hotspots.
Medway Town, that’s anywhere with an ME postcode in Kent is officially the luckiest postcode in the UK when it comes to lottery results, closely followed by Ilford (IG) and Romford (RM) in Essex. Other postcodes who make the top ten are Sunderland (SR), Newcastle (NE), Perth (PH), Teesside (TS), Dartford (DA), Hull (HU), and Bradford (BD).
So now it seems you must check your door numbers, and postcode as well as trying to get the lucky numbers correct although National Lottery officials are keen to state that there are an average 19 millionaires created in every postcode area in the UK making everywhere a lottery hotspot.
It’s hard to disagree when you see that since 1994 there have been 2,300 millionaires created across the UK and over £23 billion raised for good causes across the country.
