Two £1 million Jackpot Winners Still Unclaimed…From the Same Draw

The search is on to find the owners of two winning lottery tickets worth over £1 million each. Incredibly, the two unclaimed tickets, bought in Shropshire and the London Borough of Ealing last month, were both top tier winners in the same National Lottery draw.
Both tickets matched all six numbers in the National Lottery draw on Saturday 28th June, earning a share of the £5,227,520 jackpot. The winning numbers that day were 8, 12, 28, 30, 43, 49 and Bonus Ball 42. With both prizes worth £1,045,504, the lucky winners have a truly life-changing sum of money waiting for them!
A National Lottery spokesperson said, “We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winners comes forward to claim their wins.”
The ticket-holders have until Christmas Day, Thursday 25th December 2014, to claim their prize, after which the winnings and any interest they have accrued will be used to fund National Lottery projects across the UK. Anyone who believes they have a winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the last 180 days should have their ticket checked by an authorised retailer or, for large wins, call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
The biggest ever unclaimed lottery win was a whopping £63.8 million back in 2012. The winning EuroMillions ticket was bought in the Stevenage or Hitchin area of Hertfordshire, but the huge prize was never claimed and transferred to the National Lottery Good Causes fund after the 180 day deadline for claiming tickets passed with no sign of the winner.
Instances such as these highlight the benefits of buying online, where tickets are stored securely in the player’s online account and an email notification sent when a ticket matches a winning combination. The next National Lottery draw is tonight, and boasts a guaranteed jackpot of £2.1 million, so make sure you check your tickets after the draw or, better still, buy your tickets online to have your numbers checked automatically after the draw! To make sure you don’t miss out on any winnings, you can purchase your UK Lotto tickets online here or from authorised retailers.
