Two UK Lotto Jackpots Claimed This Week

Last Updated: Friday 13th September 2013, 10:25 am

Two winners of the UK Lotto will be popping the champagne corks in celebration this weekend after claiming their jackpot prizes. Stuart Hunt, 33 from Crawley, won £3.6 million in the draw on Saturday 7th September 2013 and the second winner, identified only as Mrs C from Devon, scooped £3 million in the draw on Saturday 10th August 2013.

Both prizes were paid out to the winners this week after they approached lottery officials with their winning tickets which had matched all six numbers to win the jackpot. Although Mrs C is keeping her identity firmly under wraps, it has not stopped local media in Devon speculating about her identity and calling for anyone who may know her to come forward. All lottery officials have confirmed is that Mrs C bought her winning ticket online and that her total win amounted to £3,105,356.

Conversely, Stuart Hunt and his partner, Nicky Martin, were happy to go public with their good news. They received their cheque for £3,676,642 at a press conference at Langshott Manor Hotel on Wednesday and described the win as a "godsend". Stuart, a roofer by trade, has been out of work for several months after tearing a ligament in his knee playing football with his daughter so the win couldn’t have come at a better time.

Stuart bought the winning ticket from Martins newsagents in Bewbush, and the couple only found out they had hit the jackpot after Nicky took the ticket to her local Morrison’s supermarket to be checked. When the cashier told her she needed to contact the National Lottery directly as she had a big win, Nicky raced home to do just that.

The couple, who have three children, plan to be careful with their money although Stuart does plan to treat himself to a new Range Rover Sport in white. He is considering going into property development – although he will let someone else do the roofing!

Congratulations to Mrs C and Stuart and Nicky from If you fancy being in with a chance of following in their millionaire footsteps then the good news is that Saturday’s UK Lotto jackpot is a rollover worth an incredible £5.9 million.
