UK Lotto falls below estimate

Last Updated: Tuesday 11th June 2013, 11:42

Lottery BallsAs reported earlier this week, it’s the Euromillions Lottery that is dominating the news this week with a rollover and a new draw. Maybe that’s why the UK Lotto fell way below the estimated jackpot for last night’s draw, not even scraping £2 million. At £1.83 million, last night’s Lotto jackpot is one of the lowest ever seen, but we don’t think the single jackpot winner will be too disappointed at being made an instant millionaire.

In all, £7.6 million was paid out in prize money in the midweek Lotto draw, not the biggest amount ever, but we’re sure the winners will be happy in any case. In addition to the single jackpot winner, another eight players collect £70,596 for matching five main balls and the bonus and over 400,000 players walked away with a prize of some kind.

The next draw for UK Lottery players is tomorrow’s Euromillions and it’s that rollover that has been causing much of this week’s excitement. Tomorrow’s Euromillions jackpot is worth an estimated £25 million and then on the following Tuesday the first midweek Euromillions draw takes place.

In between those two Euromillions draws is of course the weekend UK Lotto draw, and that draw, on Saturday evening has an estimated jackpot of £4.5 million. Will Saturday’s UK Lotto reach its estimate? We’ll have to wait and see, but whatever happens, buying lottery tickets for the draw could make you an instant millionaire, just like last night’s £1.8 million winner!
