Could a £20 Million Jackpot Produce a Wednesday Lotto Winner?

Last Updated: Wednesday 16th March 2016, 09:08 am

A Lotto jackpot of £20 million for tonight’s draw is sure to galvanise players from across the country into action following a run of six rollovers. The top prize was last won on Saturday 20th February, when a single ticket holder scooped £6.7 million, but it has been a while longer since anyone matched all six main numbers on a Wednesday and this evening’s game therefore represents a chance for a potential winner to make a space for themselves in the history books.

The last time the midweek draw was won was on 11th November, when one participant pocketed £15.7 million. Nobody has landed an amount as large as £20 million on a Wednesday since changes were made to Lotto last October to freshen it up and generate more excitement. There is even a chance that a winner tonight could eclipse Iris Jeffrey’s £20.1 million, won on 14th July 2004, and claim the biggest single Lotto prize ever won on a Wednesday if enough is added to the pot through ticket sales.

There have still been lots of great prizes given away in each draw, and you can find the latest Lotto Results right here. One contributing factor to the lack of recent Wednesday jackpot winners is the fact that fewer tickets are bought in midweek, but those that do play actually have a better chance of snapping up £1 million in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle than they would on a Saturday.  Head over to the Lotto Millionaire Raffle page to find out why.

The Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees that one player will become a millionaire in every Lotto draw, but it is vital that players remember to check the raffle code on their tickets rather than just look at their Lotto numbers. One participant who bought their ticket on the Isle of Wight for the Lotto draw on 27th February has still not come forward to claim their £1 million prize, and officials have urged everyone who might have played to have another look.

A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re eager to find the mystery ticket holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket on the Isle of Wight to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.” The winning code is NAVY 3917 5002.

It promises to be another exciting night with loads of great prizes on offer, and if you fancy getting your hands on the jackpot or the top Lotto Millionaire Raffle prize, you can buy a Lotto ticket online or from an authorised retailer. Good luck!
