EuroMillions Jackpot Soars To £81 Million

Last Updated: Tuesday 16th May 2017, 09:31

The EuroMillions jackpot has climbed to a colossal £81 million ahead of tonight’s draw, giving participants across the continent the chance to win the biggest award of the year. UK players have so far snapped up more than £7 billion in prize money since the game was launched in 2004, including 65 jackpot winners.

The highest jackpot given away so far in 2017 has been €88.5 million (£76 million), which was won by an Irish syndicate back on 24th January. The top prize has not been larger since a lucky Belgian ticket holder scooped €153.3 million (£168 million) in October 2016.

For UK players, this evening’s draw represents an opportunity to become the biggest winner from the country since a £93.3 million jackpot was claimed by a mystery ticket holder on 12th June 2015.

The last time the top prize was won was on Tuesday 11th April, when a family from Dijon in France picked up €83.3 million (£70.8 million). However, there have still been millions of winners throughout Europe over the past nine draws even though the jackpot has continued to roll over. One great-grandmother from Scunthorpe landed £1 million on the Millionaire Maker on 2nd May, and this week revealed that she kept her ticket under her pillow until she was ready to come forward and claim her prize.

Anyone who wants to try and win a huge prize in tonight’s draw, and possibly even the multimillion-pound jackpot, could check out the EuroMillions Statistics page to take a look at the most frequently drawn numbers or the most overdue numbers. Alternatively, the Random Number Generator will create a line for you in an instant which could just turn out to be very lucky.

If you fancy becoming the biggest winner of 2017, you have to be in in it to win it. You can choose numbers online or by visiting an authorised retailer. Best of luck!
