Lottery prize claimed in nick of time

Last Updated: Friday 16th January 2015, 09:14

Lottery Tickets CashWe’re always bringing you appeals for unclaimed lottery prizes on these pages and often, there is no follow up news as the money ends up in the hands of the good causes fund. However, earlier in the month we brought you a story that there was just one unclaimed lottery prize for October and astonishingly, the winner has come forward to claim, just in the nick of time.

Maybe he read our appeal, it wasn’t the most publicised unclaimed lottery prize, whatever the reason he’s now much better off with a Euromillions win in his pocket.

We brought you the story earlier this month about the Euromillions prize worth £61,921 that was to expire at the end of the month. The lottery ticket had been sold in the London Borough of Lambeth, yet despite months going by, no one had stepped forward to claim the prize.

A few days ago, a gentleman called the National Lottery office and told them he was holding the winning lottery ticket, whether he read our piece we’ll never know but the win has been confirmed and the lucky gentleman is now in receipt of £61,921.

Congratulations to the winner, who must be so relieved not to have missed out. There are many unclaimed lottery prizes listed on the National Lottery website, why not take a look and check that none of them are you? Many are worth over £1 million, and there are a couple of Millionaire Raffle prizes unclaimed.

Of course the better alternative is to buy your lottery tickets online, that way you never need to worry about losing a ticket again!
