Last Updated: Thursday 19th January 2017, 10:42
The Lotto jackpot was won for the first time this year on Wednesday 18th January as two players split £12.2 million. Each lucky ticket holder pocketed £6.1 million after matching all six main numbers, bringing an end to a run of four rollovers.
The numbers drawn last night were 8, 14, 20, 27, 28 and 53, with Bonus Ball 45. As well as the jackpot winners, one participant matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to scoop £49,792, while over 883,000 other prizes were given away on a great night for many players. Visit the Lotto Results page for more information, including a full prize breakdown and details of the winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle code.
The jackpot had not previously been won since New Year’s Eve, when one ticket holder bagged a phenomenal £26.1 million just by matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball. The top prize had to be won in this draw after the jackpot cap of £22 million had been passed in the previous draw.
The latest winners have 180 days to come forward and claim their money, but they can already start to think about how they might like to use the cash. As well as having financial security for life, they can set their sights on new homes, cars, exciting holidays and even business ventures.
If you want to emulate last night’s success and get your hands on a multimillion-pound jackpot of your own, you will have to enter Saturday’s draw. The jackpot is worth an estimated £3.5 million and tickets can be bought online or from authorised retailers. Good luck!
