Lotto Valentine’s Superdraw for £14 Million on 13th February

Last Updated: Tuesday 7th May 2019, 11:56

Lotto players throughout the UK can look forward to playing for the game’s biggest jackpot of the year on Wednesday 13th February, after The National Lottery announced a £14 million ‘Valentine’s Superdraw’ will take place. The draw will be held the day before Valentine’s Day, so find out here how to land the perfect match to be in with a chance of winning.

Same Superdraw Format as a Normal Draw

The Superdraw will work in exactly the same way as a normal Lotto draw, despite the bigger jackpot, and you can enter by picking six main numbers between 1 and 59. You can pick your line from any authorised ticket retailer in the UK, or join an online syndicate. The odds of winning in the Superdraw are the same compared to any normal draw, and the jackpot can be won by matching all six main numbers.

The jackpot for the Superdraw will be worth a guaranteed £14 million regardless of what happens in the Lotto draws which take place beforehand. The jackpot will remain at that figure if the top prize is won twice in a row, once, or not at all. The jackpot is guaranteed at £14 million because of the Lotto Reserve Fund, which is given a share of the prize fund following every draw. Remember you can check your numbers using our Results Checker shortly after the Superdraw has taken place.

Stow-on-the-Wold Couple to Star in TV Advert

The National Lottery has also announced that Jon and Michaela Malsen-Jones, a married couple from Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, will appear in a forthcoming television advert promoting the Valentine’s Superdraw. The duo, who have been married for 22 years, have fought off competition from many other couples to land the role. They run the local post office in the Stow-on-the-Wold town, and will appear in an advert shown in the UK over a seven-day period from Thursday 7th February.

Duncan Malyon, Camelot retail director, explained: “Having real retailers like Jon and Michaela in our adverts is just one of the many ways we are growing our relationships with our 44,000 retail partners across the UK. We’re so glad they enjoyed the experience and really appreciate them taking the time out from their shop to do so.”

Ticket sales should increase ahead of the Superdraw, given the size of the jackpot. However, if you can’t wait until the Valentine’s draw to play Lotto, you can still enter tomorrow night’s game for £5.1 million. Let us know on Twitter how you get on!
