Must Be Won Lotto Draw To Close Big Week for Players

Last Updated: Monday 27th January 2025, 14:40

After a UK player won £83 million on EuroMillions, even more excitement is on the way with a Lotto Must Be Won draw scheduled for Saturday 1st February.

There have already been three Lotto jackpot winners since the start of 2025, and on Friday 24th January it was the turn of EuroMillions to break its duck for the year as someone matched all the numbers.

Hunt on for EuroMillions Winner

The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 19, 30 and 49, with Lucky Stars 3 and 8. Among the 714,485 UK winners, there were prizes paid out in every category - from £2.80 for matching two numbers to £66,244 for getting five plus one Lucky Star. Another player landed £1 million after matching the Millionaire Maker code of JNTX 26814.

For the £83 million winner, the onus is now on them to stake their claim within the next 180 days. Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Advisor, said after the draw: “Amazing, what a fantastic night for a single UK ticket holder who has scooped tonight’s £83 million EuroMillions jackpot!

“This lucky winner represents the first UK EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025, what a way to start the year. Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”

Big Lotto Win Guaranteed

While EuroMillions regularly rolls over and big winners are relatively few and far between, Lotto is designed so that the jackpot gets paid out much more often.

Must Be Won draws take place when the jackpot has rolled over five times in a row, while special draws are also scheduled from time to time when the top prize is increased and has to be won.

The jackpot will be raised to £15 million for Saturday’s draw, setting up the chance for someone to become the game’s biggest winner of the year. If nobody matches all the numbers, a rolldown will occur and the money will still be paid out.

A rolldown sees a portion of the jackpot allocated to each of the other prize categories and then divided between all the winners. If you match three numbers, for example, you might receive around £100 instead of the regular £30 prize.

With a variety of other games to choose from too, there are lots of chances to win incredible prizes throughout the week. Make sure to get involved before the cut-off time for each lottery, then check the results after every draw.
