Stirling Lotto Winner Has One Week Left to Claim Prize

Last Updated: Monday 8th June 2015, 09:48

A Lotto player from the Stirling Council Area has just one week left to come forward and claim their £3 million share of a Lotto rollover jackpot. National Lottery officials have made concerted efforts to find the fortunate winner, who could lose the whole seven-figure sum if they don’t make themselves known by Monday 15th June. As the hunt continues, a huge gold ‘£3 M’ statue was placed in the Blair Drummond Safari Park with the hope of snaring the missing winner.

The mystery player scooped £3,062,272 in the quadruple rollover draw on Wednesday 17th December 2014, sharing in a prize pot worth £15.3 million. As Lotto can only roll over four times, the top prize on offer in the draw rolled down when no ticket holder could match all six main numbers drawn.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said, ‘We’ve been searching for this missing winner for five months now but, as yet, we’ve have no luck. With the ticket expiry date looming we’re giving it one final push to find the mystery millionaire, as, while there is still time, there is still definitely hope.’

Speaking about the safari park PR move, they commented, ‘Considering that going on safari is one of the top things on lottery winners’ bucket lists, partnering up with Blair Drummond Safari Park was a natural fit...someone who bought their ticket in Stirling could be heading off on a luxury safari or another adventure of a lifetime if they claim in time.’

National Lottery prizes expire 180 days after the date of the drawing. Whether you’re playing EuroMillions, Lotto, Hotpicks or Thunderball, you need to make sure you claim any prizes due to you within that deadline. Any winning tickets left unclaimed after this date are transferred to the Good Causes Fund and are used to support vital initiatives across the UK. To prevent something like this from ever happening to you, consider buying Lotto tickets online or via Direct Debit so that you receive an email straight away if you do win a prize.

If you’re living in the Stirling area and you need to jog your memory, the winning Lotto numbers for Wednesday 17th December 2014 were 2, 19, 24, 33, 35 and 46 with Bonus Ball 12, and you can find a full prize breakdown at the dedicated Lotto Results page for the draw. If that’s still not enough, it might help to remember that Stirling Albion played Forfar Athletic FC on Saturday 13th December, losing 2-1 to the home side. The following weekend, Albion travelled to Ayr United and eked out a 2-2 draw right before Christmas.

Turn every sofa cushion and handbag upside down and clean out those desk drawers, cars and cupboards if you’re a Stirling area resident, as you wouldn’t want to miss out on a truly wild amount of money!
