Use A National Lottery Ticket For Special Offers in New Birthday Campaign
Last Updated: Thursday 14th November 2019, 10:06
The National Lottery’s #ThanksToYou campaign is back for 2019, giving you the chance to gain free entry or redeem special offers at attractions across the UK. The new campaign will coincide with the National Lottery’s 25th birthday celebrations and runs from 23rd November to 1st December.
Thanking National Lottery Players
The #ThanksToYou promotion is running again this year to show the National Lottery’s gratitude to players for the money they raise for good causes throughout the country. Over the past 25 years, more than 565,000 projects have benefited from National Lottery funding - with £0.28 of every £1 spent on games going towards worthy causes.
The total raised for good causes has added up to more than £4 billion since 1994, helping small community schemes right up to big national projects such as the funding of Olympic champions. As a gesture of appreciation, many National Lottery-funded venues and projects have now agreed to put on special offers during a nine-day period.
How It Works
To take part, you just need to present a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard - you can show a paper ticket if you have played in-store or a digital one if you have played online. All draw games are eligible, so whether you play Lotto, EuroMillions, Thunderball, Set For Life, Lotto HotPicks or EuroMillions HotPicks, you will be eligible to take part.
Hundreds of venues have signed up to #ThanksToYou, from the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland to the Eden Project in Cornwall and the National Gallery in London. The precise terms and conditions will vary from place to place, but will generally include free entry, discounted prices or other special offers.
You will need to check with specific locations to find out exactly what is on offer. You can search for participating attractions on the National Lottery’s Good Causes website.
National Lottery Birthday Celebrations
The #ThanksToYou campaign is the latest promotion to mark the National Lottery’s 25th anniversary. A number of special lottery events have also been arranged to celebrate the occasion, with a ‘Birthday Scratchcard’ already on sale and a big EuroMillions event taking place last Friday. Instead of one winner in the Millionaire Maker, the draw on Friday 8th November gave away 25 prizes of £1 million.
In Lotto, a ‘Birthday Jackpot’ of £25 million will also be on offer on Saturday 23rd November. You can look forward to this special event knowing that you are helping various good causes across the UK just by taking part, and you may even decide to visit one of these lottery-funded attractions from 23rd November to 1st December. It might just be that you also win a multimillion-pound fortune.
