Portsmouth Man Plots ‘Silliness’ After £1 Million EuroMillions Win

Last Updated: Thursday 5th April 2018, 14:25

A Portsmouth man has revealed ‘there will be some silliness’ after he became a millionaire on EuroMillions, but he is just delighted that his family will now have long-term financial security.

Millionaire Maker

Jason Jagodzinsk, 38, picked up a £1 million prize in the Millionaire Maker game last month, after buying a ticket from The Co-Op on Highlands Road in Fareham. He had the ticket checked by a shop worker and was shocked to be told that it was worth a seven-figure sum.

“I was completely stunned, and then I had a little jump around to celebrate,” said Jason in The Portsmouth News. “All the other shoppers in the shop were cheering for me and slapping me on the back, it was an amazing moment.”

Jason still went to work after having the ticket checked, and was later congratulated by his colleagues when confirmation came in from National Lottery officials. He said: “The snow was coming down pretty heavy so the boss decided we’d close early but nobody wanted to leave until I’d had the call back from Camelot to confirm the win.

“We were all in the office and it was silent as I spoke to the lady from Camelot. When she said “I can confirm you are a millionaire” I gave a thumbs up and everyone cheered, and I don’t mind saying I had tears in my eyes.”

'Posh Seats'

As a big football fan, Jason is now looking forward to upgrading his seats at the local club. He also wants to buy a new car and spoil the children, but his main focus is just on making sure everyone in the family is set up for the future.

“First and foremost I need to make sure that those close to me are looked after,’ he said. “There’ll be some silliness, a trip to Disneyland for all the kids in the family, an upgrade on my car to a Ford Focus RS – before I could only afford the ST. And next season my brother and I will be watching Pompey play from the posh seats.

“Other than that I’m not sure what my next step will be but it’s exciting to know that whatever I decide, the money is there to give me the freedom and security to do it.”

If you want to follow in Jason’s footsteps and snap up a fantastic EuroMillions prize, you can choose numbers online or go to any authorised retailer ahead of Friday’s draw. There’s a jackpot of £45 million on offer following a rollover on Tuesday. Good luck!
