EuroMillions and Lotto Winners Win Enormous Prizes Totalling Nearly £40 Million

Last Updated: Monday 6th October 2025, 15:27

In an extraordinary weekend of luck, two National Lottery players have struck life-changing jackpots worth almost £40 million combined, with one winning the EuroMillions jackpot of £26 million and another claiming a Lotto jackpot of £10.6 million.

The odds of two major UK lottery wins coinciding in a single weekend are astronomically low — far rarer than either jackpot alone — making this a truly remarkable moment for lottery fans nationwide.

The EuroMillions Winner Takes Home £26 Million

The winning EuroMillions numbers for Friday 3rd October were 6, 12, 18, 25, 41 with Lucky Stars 2 and 6. This marks the third UK EuroMillions jackpot winner of the year, following prizes of £65 million on Valentine’s Day and £83 million in January.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn and operator of the National Lottery, described it as a "fantastic night for EuroMIllions players.” He encouraged everyone to check their tickets and come forward if they believe they’ve won.

He also mentions how tens of billions of pounds have been raised for good causes across the UK through the EuroMillons lottery since its launch, including funding support for arts and sports industries, empowering local community groups, and preserving iconic British landmarks.

EuroMillion Odds and Prizes:

Approximately 1 in 139 million. But as your dad might say, somebody has got to win it, and in this instance we have a very lucky winner. However, that’s just for the top prize. There are several other prize tiers to enter for and you can find out about them at our Odds and Prizes page.

Lotto Winner Claims £10.6 Million

Just a day later, Saturday’s Lotto draw produced another big winner. The lucky numbers were 6, 8, 12, 33, 49, 59, with bonus number 42, earning one player a £10.6 million jackpot. While no one matched five numbers plus the bonus to win £1 million, 78 players matched five main numbers, each collecting £1,750. The next Lotto jackpot, on Wednesday 8th October, is now estimated at £2 million.

Lotto Odds, Prizes, and Statistics:

Odds of winning Lotto are a little more generous than EuroMillions (1 in 45 million). While £2 million is the minimum top prize, you can win on any number of the odds and prize tiers in Lotto.

A Rare Statistical Coincidence

The simultaneous jackpots are a statistical marvel.  To put it in perspective, the chance of one player landing both jackpots in the same weekend is roughly the product of their individual odds — a figure approaching one in a quadrillion. That’s rarer than flipping 50 coins and getting heads every single time. The odds of both being won on the same weekend are better than that when there are millions of tickets sold for each game, but it’s still a rare coincidence.

What’s Next for EuroMillions and Lotto?

  • Next EuroMillions draw: Tuesday 7th October – estimated jackpot of £14 million
  • Next Lotto draw: Wednesday 8th October – estimated jackpot of £2 million

As excitement builds, players across the UK are reminded that while lightning rarely strikes twice, sometimes, just sometimes, it strikes twice in one weekend.
