Portuguese Player Becomes Latest EuroMillions Winner

Last Updated: Wednesday 12th July 2017, 09:54

The EuroMillions jackpot was won for the third time in four draws last night, with a Portuguese player banking £15.1 million. The success follows Friday 7th July’s £25.6 million haul for an Irish player and an £87.5 million payday enjoyed by a UK player seven days previously.

The winning numbers were 14, 22, 26, 42 and 50 with Lucky Stars 8 and 10 and other prizes won on Tuesday 11th July ranged from £2.60 for matching two main numbers to €369,210 for matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star. You can find the full prize breakdown for the main draw along with both Millionaire Maker codes, worth a guaranteed £1 million to two UK players, at the EuroMillions Results page.

The latest flurry of life-changing wins follows a run of seven rollovers that began in early June. That was stopped on the night of the latest EuroMillions Superdraw, when a ticket holder from the UK matched all five main numbers and two Lucky Stars. They came forward to collect their prize soon afterwards and have decided to stay anonymous. Just two draws later, a participant who bought their ticket in Castlebar, Co Mayo repeated the feat. They have made contact with the Irish National Lottery, but are yet to choose whether to reveal their identity.

Tuesday night’s Portuguese winner becomes the 65th of their compatriots to pocket the top prize in the multinational lottery. The Iberian nation sits fourth in terms of jackpot winners produced, one behind the UK on 65. France and Spain head the table, with 85 and 82 wins, respectively.

If you want to follow in the recent winners’ footsteps, you can buy EuroMillions tickets at authorised retailers, or choose your numbers online now. Good luck!
